Fuller’s Brewery has won the Time Out Magazine Trophy for the Best British Style Ale for their 1845 Celebration Strong Ale at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) on Thursday the 21st of May at the Melbourne Showgrounds, Victoria.

The awards is the largest annual competition of its kind in the world, judging both draught and packaged beer. Renowned for showcasing the highest quality beer and for celebrating brewing excellence in Australia and around the world.

Along with the Best British Ale Trophy, Fuller’s ‘1845’ also received a gold medal in its class. The ‘1845’ was specially commissioned in 1995 to celebrate 150 years of the Fuller, Smith and Turner partnership. It is a live, bottle-conditioned beer, skilfully brewed to mature over time. Fittingly, this award coincides with the 170th Anniversary of the partnership.

The ABIA is conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria and attracted a record number of entries with more than 1,700 submissions from 344 exhibitors, across 35 countries received. The wide variety of beer styles were assessed by an expert industry panel of 58 judges from around the world over three days.

Head Judge Warren Pawsey was overwhelmed with the quality of entrants in 2015, which has improved year-on-year.

“We have been extremely impressed by the high quality product coming through, and 2015’s pool of entrants has not disappointed.”

Fuller’s Brewery celebrates its 170th Birthday with an Anniversary Ale Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C., the London brewer and premium pub company, has brought out a new, limited edition brew to commemorate its 170th year in brewing. Fuller’s 170th Anniversary Celebration Ale is a seven per cent bottle-conditioned beer. Orange peel is added towards the end of the brewing process, to complement the citrus notes from Fuller’s trademark yeast. The beer comes packaged in a commemorative box, adorned with the gates of the famous Griffin Brewery and contains Caragold and pale ale malts, wheat, golden oats and Goldings and Liberty hops. It is available in the Brewery Store, via the Fuller’s website and in Sweden. Head Brewer John Keeling said: “170 years is a milestone for any business – and as a brewery, the only way to celebrate is with a new beer. There is not much in life that is better than a beautifully crafted bottle-conditioned beer enjoyed with a good cheese board and great company. 170th Anniversary Celebration Ale is a must add for any beer connoisseur’s collection.”

St. George's Day is a upon us! This Thursday the 23rd of April, along with the Lady Daly Hotel, we're celebrating England's national day, St. George's Day.

St. George's Day is the day to honor England's Patron Saint, Saint George. To comemorate such an occasion we're having an English party down at the Lady Daly Hotel. We'll have all your favourite English tunes and food along with some other English surprises. Though it would not be an English party without many Fuller's pint to go around. We're taking over the bar and we'll have 6 of your favourite brews on tap including London Pride, ESB and London Porter as well as a few others.
